Digital Watercolor
Watercolour (or aquarelle in French) is a painting technique that uses pigments more or less diluted in water for colouring. This is what gives it this soft, transparent, bright and colourful result. This scattering of pigments doesn’t result in much texture; the only apparent texture is the one of paper it is used on. The only noticeable effect it might result in is this typical “droplets” look.
Thanks to the power of modern computer programs, I am able to reproduce this effect. With different droplet patterns and amazing digital brushes, the result is quite recognisable. Here are some examples of my digital watercolour art.
I find that the best type of support for digital watercolor is acrylic glass. It really gives depth and light to the painting with a glossy and shiny finish.
